This Week's Episode
This week's podcast episode dives into the first of several words for "praise" that we will be meditating on. We never cease to be amazed at the depth and richness of the Bible. It seems as if it were only a short while ago we used to read it and never really stopped to ponder the word "praise." I'm sure there may have been instances here and there, but not to the level we've currently stepped into.
Much of this can be attributed to a man named Ray Hughes, a popular Christian teacher and musician. We're happy to have discovered some of his online courses and thankful for him setting us on a journey to explore the Word of God in new and creative ways. This podcast series may not have even come to be if it weren't for Ray and his teachings.
God is so fun in how He chooses to speak to us and teach us, using various people, books, podcasts, courses, and anything else He chooses to in order to bless us. Our prayer is that this small but mighty podcast is just one of the many ways your Heavenly Father is blessing you!
As always, if you want to get in touch, feel free to drop us a line at [email protected], or better yet, join the community!
Blessings!
We bless you to begin seeing all the instances of praise in the Bible in a fresh new perspective. May your worship of God expand to include unique expressions as you learn more about praise.

This Week's Podcast
Yâdâh
In the Hebrew there are seven different words that are translated to the word “praise” in English. We are taking the next 7 weeks to meditate on each one of these different words. Understanding each of these will help expand our ability to praise God, entering into His presence; the place where we worship Him.
The first word we are looking at is Yâdâh. It means to extend your hands, throw a stone, or shoot an arrow. The shooting out, or lifting of the hands, especially in worship. It also means to be thankful and to confess.
The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart exults,
And with my song I shall thank Him. - Psalm 28:7 NASB1995
We also read from Genesis 29:35, 1 Chronicles 16:4, 1 Chronicles 16:7-8, Psalm 7:17, Psalm 42:5, and Isaiah 25:1
Reflection Questions
David was calling people to raise their hands in awe of God in the Psalms when He uses the word yâdâh. If you think about praise as a physical response to God, what begins to stir up for you? Is this something common to you? Something you have never really tried?

A Daily Declaration
I will raise my hands in praise to the One true God.
