This Week's Episode
This is our second week exploring the seven Hebrew words for paise in the Old Testament. Last week we looked at the idea of raising our hands in praise to God. This week we're meditating on the word Shâbach, which means to raise our voices; to shout praises to God.
We shout at sporting events. We shout when the clock strikes midnight, ringing in the new year. We might even shout from time to time when we lose our temper. How often do we shout praises to God? If our answer is "very seldom" or "never" why not? The God of all creation, our Heavenly Father, is worthy of all of our praise.
We hope this week's podcast stirs something up inside of you to the point of wanting to go shout praises to the King. Maybe your initial attempts will not be so loud as to attract attention, or maybe they will. Either way, be blessed to enter into a new expression of worship this week. Maybe, if we're lucky, we'll become one of those "weirdos" who do crazy things for God, like shouting His praises in public ; )
As always, if you want to get in touch, feel free to drop us a line at [email protected], or better yet, join the community!
Blessings!
May the Holy Spirit remind you of God's wonderful works in your life. That this would cause a shout of praise to come forth from your lips. He is worthy!

This Week's Podcast
Shâbach
It means, "to shout, to address in a loud tone, to command, to glory to triumph." How can our praise take on this form? There is something to be said about allowing ourselves to enter into the physical expression of praise that God is inviting us into. It is powerful.
If we are to worship God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength as the Bible says, then it makes sense we are encouraged to engage our bodies as well as our hearts and minds. To shout at the top of our lungs just how great God is!
Bible Verses and Notes
One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life,
My lips will praise You.
Praise the Lord, all nations;
Laud Him, all peoples!
Let everyone everywhere shine with praise to Yahweh!
Let it all out! Go ahead and praise him!
We also read from 1 Chronicles 16:35 and Psalm 117:1 VOICE.
Reflection Questions
Can you think of a time where you have seen God move in such an amazing way you just wanted to shout for joy about how good He is? Have you shared that testimony with the next generation?
In Psalm 145, the scriptures tell us to shout, declare God’s mights works to the next generation. What is God doing in your life that is worth talking about?

A Daily Declaration
I will shout praises to my God, for His goodness is worth telling everyone!
