This Week's Episode
Welcome to week 5 in our series on Worship. In this episode we meditate on the word Tôwdâh. It has been a rewarding process thus far, researching and learning more about the richness of the Hebrew language. Do you know how to speak Hebrew? If so, let us know!
Here's a question to reflect on as you listen this week: It is easy to praise God when all is going well, to be thankful and celebrate only when we see the wins. Tôwdâh is an invitation to remember God's goodness even when things are not going our way. To exercise a sacrifice of praise when it does not come naturally. How can you develop a practice of offering thanksgiving to God that will not be deterred by your circumstances?
As always, if you want to get in touch, feel free to drop us a line at [email protected], or better yet, join the community!
Blessings!
May thanksgiving become a daily part of your life, offering a sacrifice of praise to God in all situations. Blessing you to have a thankful heart!

This Week's Podcast
Tôwdâh means to make a sacrifice of praise, or a sacrifice of thanksgiving. It also means (similar to Yadah) to extend your hands. In the Psalms it appears in a way of thanking God for things you have not yet received, as well as things you have. It is a confession of God’s goodness offering Him thanks.
“For every beast of the forest is Mine,
The cattle on a thousand hills.
“I know every bird of the mountains,
And everything that moves in the field is Mine.
“If I were hungry I would not tell you,
For the world is Mine, and all it contains.
“Shall I eat the flesh of bulls
Or drink the blood of male goats?
“Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving
And pay your vows to the Most High;
Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me.”
“He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me;
And to him who orders his way aright
I shall show the salvation of God.”
We also read from Psalm 95:2 and Psalm 100:4
Casting Crowns - Praise You In This Storm
|
We thought this oldie but goodie from Casting Crowns was fitting for this week's word. To come before God, even in the midst of a storm, and praise His holy name. Not just to praise Him as a way of asking, "please make it go away", but to lock eyes on His goodness, beholding His beauty and worth! When we look upon our King, we cannot help but enter into a state of praise and thanksgiving.
I'll praise You in this storm
And I will lift my hands
For You are who You are
No matter where I am
Every tear I've cried
You hold in Your hand
You never left my side
And though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
