The word ready was sent in by Paige. Readiness isn’t passive—it’s an active, faith-filled response to God’s call. As faith filled believers, we are supposed to live our lives in a perpetual state of readiness. Ready for what God has in the present moment; what he is speaking and how he wants to release his kingdom on Earth through you. Lastly, we are to be like the five wise virgins who kept their lamps trimmed and filled with oil, ready for when the bridegroom returns.
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
“And with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.”
“Stay dressed for action[a] and keep your lamps burning, and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home…”
Be alert, for he’s coming suddenly and may find you sleeping!
While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”

God uses the his word to illuminate our path. What has been revealed to your through the His word lately?
What aspect is God revealing to you when you meditate on the idea of Jesus being the light of the world? What does it mean to you that His light is in you?
Is there somewhere in your life where God is calling you to arise and shine? To have His glory shine through you?

I keep my lamp trimmed and filled with oil as I await the return of Jesus, my beautiful bridegroom.
